McLean's Premium Communities Are Increasingly Built Around Silver Line Access, Not Just Around the Beltway

Four consecutive Silver Line stations - McLean, Tysons, Greensboro, Spring Hill - now anchor one of the metro's highest-end senior care corridors.

McLean's senior living market has always traded on affluence and amenities; what's newer is how directly it now trades on Silver Line access too. The McLean and Tysons stations sit at the center of the area's densest cluster of high-end communities, with Greensboro and Spring Hill extending the corridor slightly further.

Why the Silver Line specifically matters here

Before the Silver Line opened, this corridor was almost entirely car-dependent despite its proximity to DC. Rail access has genuinely changed the calculus for families who'd rather not rely on a car for every visit, and some newer McLean communities market their station proximity as a selling point alongside their amenities.

Getting further into the system

From McLean or Tysons, the Silver Line runs east through Arlington's Ballston-Rosslyn corridor (sharing track with the Orange Line) into downtown DC, and west out to Reston and beyond - so a family based in McLean can reach either Arlington or Reston without a transfer.

One caution about the premium market

Rail access here doesn't correlate with lower prices - if anything, the newest, most transit-adjacent communities in this corridor tend to price at the top of the Northern Virginia range. Weigh convenience against budget the same way you would anywhere else in the metro.
